CSV files are how the internet moves data around, and somehow they always show up a little bit broken. Stray spaces hiding inside cells. Email addresses with random capital letters. Dates in four different formats in the same column. Duplicate rows that snuck in because someone exported the same report twice. Clean That Sheet is built specifically to take that kind of CSV and hand you back a version that's actually usable.

Drop in a .csv file from anywhere, your CRM, your online store platform, your ad accounts, your analytics tool, a teammate's Google Sheets export, or a hand built list you've been adding to for months. We don't care where it came from. We'll detect the columns, scan every row, and clean the predictable mess: duplicate rows (exact and near duplicates), leading and trailing whitespace, inconsistent casing on names and emails, mixed date formats, empty rows, and column headers that look like they were named in a hurry.

You'll get a free preview of the cleaned sample so you can see exactly what changed before paying a thing. If the preview looks right, pay only to unlock the full cleaned CSV as a download. If it doesn't look right, you walk away, no account, no subscription, no follow-up emails about a webinar.

It's the kind of cleanup that takes 20 minutes by hand on a small file and several hours on a big one. Clean That Sheet does it in a few seconds, and it doesn't get tired and skip rows on the way down. Bring your messiest CSV. We've seen worse.

The FAQ

Questions people ask before cleaning a spreadsheet

How do I clean a CSV file before importing it?
Open the file, drop the empty rows, trim stray spaces, standardize date and email formats, and check for duplicates that only differ by casing or whitespace. If you'd rather not do that by hand, upload the CSV to Clean That Sheet and preview each of those fixes on your actual file before unlocking the cleaned download.
Why does my CSV still fail after I remove blank rows?
Most import failures are caused by things blank-row removal doesn't touch: unescaped quotes, mismatched column counts, encoding issues, or hidden whitespace characters inside otherwise valid rows. The preview surfaces those specific issues so you can see exactly why the file was rejected.
I found CSV-cleaning advice on Reddit, but how can I preview what will actually change?
Community advice is often right in principle and risky in practice on your own file. Clean That Sheet applies the standard CSV cleanup rules to a sample of your file first, so you see the before-and-after on real rows before you pay to unlock the full cleaned version.
Can a CSV have duplicate records that are not exact matches?
Yes. Two rows can represent the same person or product but look different because of casing, trailing spaces, alternate spellings, or inconsistent formatting. Excel's Remove Duplicates treats those as separate rows. The preview flags the near-duplicates so you can decide before anything is deleted.
